Last shot of Interferon today, last dose of Ribavirin next Thursday.
Won't be sorry to see the back of the bloody itching etc.
Apart from 4 weeks during Nov/Dec, when my hg dropped to 7.2, and a drop
in dosage of the riba subsequently to 600mg I have maintained compliance
with the protocol which brings me to about 80% compliance overall. I
hope this is enough to achieve an svr, if not, well better to have tried
and failed and all that.
My consultant is willing to do a pcr now, which as far as I am concerned
he is welcome to do but I think I'll wait the six months before I seek
the information. If I am or am not clear now, is really just academic,
it is in six months and a year that I want to be showing clear and if
this occurs or not, what will be will be whether I know now or in six
months.
I know some of you good people have been through the mill and not
achieved the results hoped for. If I am to be one who fails to achieve
clearance then I hope I will be as stoical as some of you have had to be.
The very best to all of you, may you find that which you seek.

Good to hear from you Lu Tze.  I wish you the very best in achieving
your SVR.  It feels like graduation day with you, Dave, Michael, and
myself finishing at the same time, but unlike the rest of you I've been
held over to fight the dragon again at a later time.  Once again, I wish
you the best of luck, you deserve it.

One thing you might ask your doctor to consider is to continue you on
maintenance therapy using only the interferon.  After my second 48
weeks of attempting to beat this thing, my doc started me on just
interferon.  Now after a year and a half, my LFTs have improved to
normal and my last biopsy indicated my liver was in good
condition...all the way from a 4 which was indicated 5 years ago.  Of
course, the virus is still present so  I continue with the shots.
