Don't worry, these doldrums occur from time to time.  The regulars are
probably keeping an eye on things here, and if someone stops in with a
question, there will likely be a few quick replies.  Anyhow, if you're
here, and I'm here, that's two!

Hope you're enjoying summer's end.

I check for any new posts here every other day or so.  If anyone has
any glaucoma questions, comments, or wants to know about the weather
in Central Florida, I'm pretty much available.  So...that makes three
of us!

I check back here daily. Unfortunately I haven't been able to post
recently. My ISP isn't pretty crummy and keep messing up.

So Dr. Cohen, how is the weather in Central Florida? :-)

..and I'm here in the UK (even though it is 02:46 at the moment !).
Just checking the newsgroups after several hours without a connection
thanks to my ISP.

I watch this group as both my children (now age 27 & 29) contracted
glaucoma as a complication of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.  We first
discovered it in my daughter's eyes in 1978, and in my son's about a year
later.

As you will all appreciate, it has been an ordeal for both of them,
however, thanks to some expert medical treatment, courtesy of Mr James
McAllister at Windsor hospital, they are both managing O.K. In fact my
daughter can drive (using contacts as both her lenses developed
cataracts), but my son lost the sight in his left eye, and only has
restricted fields of vision in his right.

It's good to see the shared experiences on this group, and thanks to Dr
Cohn for all his postings.

My best wishes to all of you who suffer from glaucoma.

Paul

I do have a glaucoma related question:
Are there any issues about flying after having a tube implant?
I got my tube in March and I am supposed to be flying longhaul in October.
Thanks!

It depends...are you flying the plane or just riding on it?  Just
kidding.  No, there should be no problem flying.  Just remember that
if you're using drops, take them with you on your trip, but don't pack
them in your luggage...it can get pretty hot in the baggage
compartment of a plane.  Carry them on board.  Have a great trip.

And, in answer to Larry's question, the weather here is great...sunny
and 88 right now at 5PM (a little warmer than I like it, but it was 67
this morning).  Of course with hurricane Isabel heading this way,
we're all a little nervous.  Take care all...glad to see people are
still frequenting this group.

We are finally having a reprieve from the stifling hot --a bit of fall
in the air ; ) I am in Chattanooga , Tennessee .

Thanks Don and all for replying --had me scared that the group had
disappeared !!

In my lung support group , each month we put up our name , a little
something about ourselves , and our disease and meds list --it helps to
understand the people in the group --we call this Roll Call . Also some
in the group find sites that are real helpfull in answering questions .
Sadly I don't know enough about glaucoma to help here. Lord I don't know
the Questions yet !!  and this is why I don't want this group to
dissapear ! ; )

I'll reply to TNARTLADY too--I still look in rather frequently too!
