Hi,
My mother asked me to find some information about the above mentioned.
She suffers from glaucomia and has to use azopt drops. But she is
allergic to brinzolamide or benzalkoniumchloride. She is wondering if
that allergy could cause any damage to her eye. Especially in the case
when the cornea is injured (because of a too strong eye muscle - caused
by pulling the eye-lid everytime for taking the drops - her eye-lashes
has irritated the cornea) what will be the consequences of continuing
using these azopt drops? Will these symptomes disappear when she stops
using the drops or is any damage irreparable?
Is there anybody who experienced this?

There are a variety of eyedrops used to treat glaucoma. If your mother
is allergic to Azopt she should tell her doctor so that he/she can
prescribe a different glaucoma medication.
