Scientists Regenerate Optic Nerve for the First Time

Has anyone else seen the article about regenerating the optic nerve?  I
think its great!

I don't know why this hasn't been on the front page of every newspaper.
It sure seems to me like an amazing breakthrough. One question: Dr.
Chen says the next step is to detect whether the mice with the
regenerated optic nerves can actually see. Why would it be hard to tell
whether a mouse can see?
