Can dry eyes cause pain in your eye. It hurts when i move my eyes to
the sides.
I have been taking refresh gel and only have glaucoma in one eye. Its
my good eye that is bothering me more.

Thanks James

Yes, dry eyes can be painful. Kinda like sand in the eye.  The best thing
to do is get it checked out by your eye doc!

Dryness will cause a "foreign body" sensation in the eye. Depending on
how dry the eye is, it can cause pain.  Severe dry eye can lead to
corneal erosion, which is not a good condition.  Have you done blood
work to determine the cause of the dry eye? Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Thyroid issues, etc. If you are using the gel, and still experiencing
pain, you need to change your protocol.  You may want to try Punctal
Occlusion, ask your doctor.

If my eye gets too dry, it burns and waters.

Until you can see your doctor, you may want to add a nighttime dry-eye
gel.  It's thicker and richer than the daytime gels.  I use Tears
Naturale P.M.  Maybe this will give you a little bit of added relief.

James , My Opthamalogist just put me on a new med specifically for dry
eyes and it works well . It's called Restasis --ask your DR. about it .
Mine had samples which I used and found it works well . I now use very
little tears , liquigel itc -You might want to try one of the thick
lubricants ( in a tube ) for night =Gentel or refresh products .
