Would this apply to Alphagan P? That's the one I'm allergic to. I
wonder if it would work better than the Betoptic S that replaced it?
Which reminds me... I didn't get a response to my query about shelf
life. A bottle of Betoptic S will last me 2-3 months. Does it lose
its effectiveness if I keep it that long?

Alphagan P has a different preservative (Purite) than the others
(Benzalkonium chloride), but in the Alphagan, which has a rather high
incidence of allergy, the allergy is to the drug itself. Can't answer
your question about the Betoptic S, but my guess is that it is just
fine after a few months. If you're truly worried, contact Alcon, the
manufacturer.
Take care,
Dr. Cohn

Which reminds me, there must be a saint mixed into your ancestry, Dr. :-)
