I have been taking pred forte, velox and now for the last week i am on
lotemax to try and bring down the pressure in my bad eye. I have been
taking these meds for retinal detachments and cornea transplant for
the last four years almost. I have finally been diagnosed with
glaucoma in my right eye. I had an open globe injury in 2000. My left
eye has been okay but has vitreous floaters. My question is could
these steriods be damaging my good eye. Do drops that you put in one
eye get into the other eye. Sorry for being so confusing. Eight
operations later i have terrible vision in that eye.I see quadruple
which makes it very confusing. I can see two fingers at 2 or 3 feet. I
wonder if this is all worth it for such bad vision because i hate the
side effects of meds.
Thank you

Topical steroid medications can potentially raise pressure in the
fellow eye only by systemic absorption (the drop draining into the
nose), but that would be exceptionally uncommon. Take care,
