The bright side of all of this is I haven't ever had to buy any
eyedrops, I've never managed to use up my freebie trial bottle before
I get switched to something else.

Went to the doctor again yesterday and am now on Yet Another Eyedrop.
This time it's a beta-blocker called Betoptic.

So my scorecard now has a big 0 score for these meds:

Xalatan
Alphagan P
Betimol
Travatan
Trusopt

I think I may have used Timoptic for a while but at this point don't
even remember!  8)

Dr Chopra says he's running out of drug classes to try.  For a while
I've only been putting drops in my left eye since that one is the main
problem (my right IOP was only 18 yesterday, and the left 23) as he
searches for something that works.

I get the feeling that the laser is in my future.  I want to make sure
that works well on one eye before doing the other, because I remember
well that old tagline from my BBS days:  "Do Not Look Into Laser With
Remaining Eye".  =)

I hope everyone is doing well.  Our pollen count was 3000 (yes, that's
three *thousand*) the other day so I wasn't the only one complaining
about her eyes!

Where do you find a numeric pollen count? I would like to get this info
myself. Does it also show types (oak pollen, grass pollen, etc)? Thanks!
Dave

P.S. What is your Dr. Chopra's first name? Just curious if he is the one I
know.

I get the Atlanta pollen count from
http://www.atlallergy.com/pollencount.asp

and it gives the worst offenders on any given day (today it reads
"Major Pollens Present: Oak, Sycamore, Willow, Birch, and Pine").
It's sponsored by an allergy clinic so the info is only local.  I
would assume other areas have services like this, but I haven't
Googled for it.

It's been raining so our pollen count is only 512 today.  =)  Oh, and
I was wrong - the other day it wasn't 3000, it was only 2500.
(Apparently we had a record last year of around 4700!)

Hersh Chopra.  Super nice guy.  He practices in Marietta, Georgia at
Georgia Eye Specialists.

My NYC t.v. chanel also gives the count, or at least degree (low, high)
during the season.

Leigh,

You might catch up with me!  I tried:

Betopic S
Timoptic XE
Trusopt
Propine
Betagan
Lopidinine
Alphaqan

and finally settled on Xalatan for 5 years before I needed trabs to bring
the pressure down to single digits (damage continued even at 17).  They
either didn't work, I had intolerable side effects (migraines with the
beta blockers) or allergies to them.
