Oh, the times my mother scolded me for always wanting to go to the lav when
I was asked to wash up:-(
When our children did the same I realised that it was the sound of the
running water which caused the need so I didn't scold - but they didn't get
out of it!

It's a waste of life to do nothing, tcs can be scary but at least it's
something. And the washing up does get done eventually ...

Hello Mary, I just wrote back to say how happy I was that there are
others who have experienced the "sound of running water" syndrome, which
makes me feel I'm not alone.
This was especially embarrassing once, when I went to visit my
mother-in-law for the day. Whilst going to the kitchen to help out with
dinner, it happened during an aura whilst peeling and washing the
potatoes for a roast.
It was lucky I'd brought a spare pair of jeans and undergarments
with me. Despite hubby still complains that it's "all in the mind", he
always manages to have a good laugh with me after getting back home.
