Patsy and Darryl - 01 Jan 2005 04:22 GMT
Hi everyone,

I know I have not posted on here all that much but I would like to tell
everyone that I have always read the posts to try and work out better ways
for Darryl (my husband) to manage his epilepsy and better ways for me to
deal with it.

As of the 17th December Darryl left me for a younger woman and when he gets
his act together he will be coming back to pick up the rest of his stuff
from our house including the computer.

This is not a bitter attack against him even though it may seem like it, but
I just wanted everyone to know that what you have posted I have read and in
a lot of cases has helped me better understand the epilepsy that Darryl has.

I wish you all the best

Patsy

Not to belittle anything... but some safety tips in situations like this.

Before he does take the computer back, ensure there is nothing of yours
on it... and that any important records, numbers, and emails (especially
emails) are transfered to a CD and "erased" from the computer. A good
program to permanently erase a file is 'eraser', a free program available
on downloads.com.

Better yet, and the simplest solution, is to just swipe the drive from
the computer and tell him to go spend the $60 to go get a brand new one,
which will be much larger. If he complains, say he will get it back after
you have gone through it (after you get YOUR computer btw) and removed
all your important files from it.

This is for your own protection, and consideration of the information
drives contain, it is just as important as making sure jointly held
credit cards and bank accounts are immediately blocked.

Take care of yourself

I like the way you think.  After a time together anyway, it is hard to tell
who owns what.  I hope she packs his stuff instead of allowing him to wander
through the house and help himself to anything he sees.

Sorry to see you leave the group Patsy (what a pretty name!)....

As far as the computer goes, my friend makes new and rebuilt ones (I
ain't trying to sell ya one, but try and stay on the group if ya
can!!)pretty cheap if you want another one.......

As far as your husband goes, sounds definitely like his loss!

Good luck in life for the new year!

That's dreadful news, I'm very sorry.

No it doesn't. I'm surprised how restrained you're being ...

I'm shocked and surprised, we never really know what's happening behind the
posts in newsgroups, do we?

I am sorry for the hurt feelings associated with human partings.  But I have
been getting fussy about the uses of language.

"As of the 17th December Darryl left me for a younger woman"

If the woman had been older, rather than younger, would that have been
mentioned?
I guess what got me a bit riled was the implication that the male wing of this
race
is cock-minded on fresh offerings.
Personally I find that depth and richness comes with age.

So am I.

It might not have been as hurtful. Many women are very conscious about their
appearance (that's very evident on the breast cancer goup I inhabit) and are
aware of their loss of youth. To be 'discarded' for someone who has that
youth, possibly a younger figure, fewer wrinkles and the like can be
cutting. It wouldn't affect me but I'm aware of others' feelings and have
some sympathy for them.

That's your interpretation, it's not everyone's.

> Personally I find that depth and richness comes with age.

So do I. But many women (including me) still want to be attractive to their
mates. The fact that my mate is very happy with my withered dugs, fat thighs
and wrinkles makes me very happy, not all are, sadly.

I used to want men to want me for my brains. Now I'd like them to want me
for my body. You can't win ... :-)

I didn't find the language used offensive at all.

Hi all.

Just to let you know, I'm back with Patsy now and we are working things out
together. Was but a moment of temporary insanity on my part.

Darryl.

It usually is!

I'm very pleased that you're back. It will take working on but nothing which
is worthwhile is easy.

Keep at it - if only for our sake! You caused argument in the group and we
don't need help to do that :-)
