I've read about people having a vegus nerve stimulator implanted to stop
chronic accute seizures so I started experimenting and discovered I can stop
my Simple Partial Seizures that occur on my right side by pumping my left
fist strongly 3-6 times either during the aura phase or upon initial onset.
Not sure if the relief is coming from nerve stimulation or change in blood
flow.  Anyone else have similar experience?

My SPS originate from left temporal lobe where a tumor is located and MRI
doesn't show any detectable stenosis (narrowing) of the arteries.

Howdy!

I have a VNS.

I asked my doc that very question. He said that it doesn't matter which
hemisphere of the brain is having seizure activity. Stimulation of the left
vagus nerve sends a current that effects the whole brain.

The reason I asked is because I have seizure activity in BOTH TLs.

During the recent live web broadcast of a VNS implantation that I saw, I
think they mentioned that stimulation of the right vagus nerve results in
unwanted cardiac effects (they didn't say what they were), which is why they
only implant on the left.  They also said that the mechanism of action of
VNS is still unknown.
