Please post references which indicate marijuana is beneficial for
epileptic seizure after effects and/or prevention.
Thank you

Have you tried a Google search first?  I don't have the links on this
computer, but there were many older messages in late 2003 and this Year that
listed Websites or gave opinions.
Search first for Subject line contents of the 2 words like above (Epilepsy
plus marijuana)  or (seizures plus marijuana).  Or if many might not use
that in the Subject, if you have option, use 'Subject line'  OR 'message
content text'  contains.

Someone may have sites they'll volunteer for you,  or they might just
have you do your own searches first? if you haven't.   (I got into this ~3
years ago picking up articles on Seizure Alert Dogs for a 'non believer' who
*Started the message thread about that.   After a week and about 10 hours
online doing *his work,  it became apparent , in **HIS* case,  that he
didn't have seizures nor knew anyone who did.   He just toured groups to ask
questions.)

I don't think for a moment that latter would be your case, but you've
been around here long enough to do some initial searches on your own first?
Or if you **have, let them know and you might get **more responses.   They
might also want to know the TYPE of Seizures you wonder about, since like
Pills, my understanding was it's not an ALL FIX for ALL Seizure types.    I
met a woman here in 1998 who could only use it for Her seizure types since
at that time it was the only thing which gave her control.   She had
Seizures since Childhood and had an Aunt who had seizures (the first case I
found of someone who had a Relative who also had seizures),  but I don't
know *which seizure types she had.
Dave-1 might know (seizure type )  if he's around.         G.

Thanks for the info. Yep, I am searching google plus other search
engines. They seem to give me older listings (in the late 90's)more than
anything so far.

Just to let the group know, I smoke it, my dr knows it, and it DOES seem
to prevent the intensity of my seizures if not the frequency. I am not a
young teenager smoking for the "buzz" but a 57 year old man that takes a
couple of tokes. My "getting high" days pretty much stopped at the end
of the 60"s :)

My problem is that the medicaid people have brought it up as a reason to
deny my application recently and I know when it comes up, the same will
be true for my SSI disability claim. I wasn't ready for the medicaid
denial (as I thought I had a open and shut case), but I would like to be
prepared to respond with as many references as possible to counter their
claims, if possible, when I go before "the judge" whenever my case for
SSI comes up.

Again, any help in the matter is appreciated.
If people dont want to post a response and have one, they can email
me........

** It was About 1998-2001 that she was posting here, but I thought there had
been some others who posted from time to time since then.   I wonder if you
could find a Doctor's Post Library to Google on?  Maybe your Dr. might know
even if he didn't 'approve'.    I Know there are places in Europe -- Sweden?
or ?? who use it for Other conditions, possibly Including Epilepsy and other
Neuronal conditions.
********
Do you have a Local Chapter of an Epilepsy Association near you?   You
could Call them to see if they have an Online site and Email address for
'questions',   then  write them and explain like below.    While some might
not give you a Formal 'endorsed site',  they Might know Doctors or Sources
where it might be available.    Canada is currently trying to get it
approved on prescription to *1) get Control of  Quality and what it contains
*2) for use of people with Terminal AIDS or Cancer  -- I don't know if
they've discovered seizures yet   *3) also some members are trying to get
Legislation in-place while 'our neighbour'   is busy at war, so they don't
decide to invade US .   :-<
**Many Doctors have been on Radio and TV (National)  Programs explaining
that a Government Program would assure Consistent Quality, would cap the
Costs and return any Profits to the Government instead of  'the street'.

**** SO Who's TELLING THEM?  If it's You, Lie to them-> they do.    What
possible relation do they put on Your Lifestyle versus whatever Medications
YOUR DOCTOR has CERTIFIED YOU NEED?   What are they?  sorry they missed the
Spanish Inquisition?

(Ask your Doctor for a Note 'certifying'  you are Clean and under his
Care.  That'll work until they come up with a Bloodtest and find out the
Border Retinal Scans don't work reliably either. )
I'm surprised that Either medicaid or SSI have any Business holding
Medications at Ransom for people's behaviour or Doctor's recommended
therapies.  Where did they learn That -- the SS ?  Maybe that's what they
think the SSI is.     End ramble.   //
