Is it possible (I know all things are possible )that another persons
action or outside source can cause an individual's seizure to cease?

I don't know if I am having small seizures (I know I have had grand mals
a few times)or,just some sort of unwanted flashback or deep meditation,
but my friend will touch me to bring be back to the conversation.
Doesn't last but a short while, but long enought for my friend to say
"hey, are your alright?"..

Does this happen to anyone else that can explain it better??

Can a seizure by ceased by a touch or voice, etc, sometimes?

And I know sometimes it can't cause paramedics picked me up, strapped me
to a whatever you call it, rode me to the emergency ward, bla, bla, bla,
and I woke up with tubes in my arm with my daughter staring down at me
with me having never felt any of it!

So I know it don't work all the time!!!!

Hello,

Not sure. I am diagnosed with primary generalized epilepsy so I do not have
these kind of  "flashbacks" / "dejavus", etc. but I read a lot and here is
what I know / think. What I can tell is that whilst I had my first EEG test
after my first grand mal / tonic clonic seizure, the EEG-specialist saw
epileptic activity that stopped after she said: "You can now open your
eyes". That happened all the time she said this to me during the test. So,
her voice brought me back to reallity to open my eyes again. However, she
stated it was not really an epileptic seizure. Just epileptic activity.

So, I think it is possible but again, I have different kind of epilepsy and
I have no experience with deja vu, etc. Maybe others can shed some light on
this topic?

Cheers,
Marco

This is a new one. But I think it just goes to show that nearly anything
can cause such activity and so little is understood about the brain that
the medical community doesnt really know why stuff like this happens.

Hiya,

I used to find that my complex partials could be stopped if caught early
enough by my wife yelling "STOP IT!!!"
That wasn't always effective, but enough to be significant. But
unfortunately the effectiveness of this "therapy" wore off after a
while....maybe it's just because I got tired of being yelled at. Lol.

Cheers
Darryl.

Possibly, if someone was just at the Simple Partial Stage (aura phase) of a
seizure onset either getting their attention to shift (like example above) ,
or distracting them, some types might be able to stop abruptly.
I'd expect with some of the stronger types (complex partial or grand mal)
that once a person has passed that simple partial onset, that above wouldn't
work.   Since then, we're often in 'The Twilight Zone' and either won't hear
anyone (even someone yelling at us) or won't understand what they're saying
(or who they are).
Under Julie's Idaho website under First aid for seizures, the stronger
seizure types say to guide a person away from danger or places they might
injure themselves, and talk to them calmly,  as the best way to bring them
out.   Most of the ones I had (Complex Partial) before they were controlled,
I had no memory of what I did or where I was while 'away'.    So I could
wake up on the floor,  strapped into a stretcher, or in the Hospital  (in
reverse order there as I got nearer to full control with medications).    I
expect the only ones that above would work with would be Simple Partial or
Absence? Seizures.   G./

Howdy!

IMO: Yup!  If caught in the early stages, a simple partial seizure may be
able to be controlled by mental focus. The mental focus probably works even
better if it can be associated with some exterior sensations such as sound
or touch.
