Hi all.>
I was at my doctors 2 days ago as I had my levels taken of tegritol and I
am in 42 or right in the theurapeudic range!! as they like to say..
-I had 2 siezures in the past mth and had triggers that seemed to cause
both...
both were late nites"one with a little more wine than I should have and the
other just late cause I couldnt sleep..
in both cases I didn't listen to my body and stop I kept pushing myself and
as a result boom!! drop on the floor and nice scrape to the head from the
carpet in my office!! but much better now!>>
anyway..sorry for rambling...!!!
-the doctor is concerned as I have high blood pressure and we are trying to
get that down but also my saline//salt level is lower than what he
wants?....and he is wondering if that may be lowering my tolerance to
siezures etc???
anyone ever hear of that before???
cheers...

If you're mixing Tegretol and Alcohol, skip the salt as a cause of 'carpet
burn'.
Ask the Dr. how those two mix. (Your pharmacy might have a printout, or it
might be on the efa.org medications glossary also. Tegretol (Carbamazepine)
is one of the aed's that has a 'non-linear absorption rate' of alcohol.)
I have no idea what my Therapeutic levels are or would be. I've used
Tegretol CR since 1995 G.R.

Wow, your levels are 42? Mine are always around 20, how much tegretol do
you take a day and do you notice many side affects.
