I am scheduled to have carotid and transcranial doppler tests done next
week at the Veterans hospital due to my seizures. Can anyone tell me
what they are, what to expect etc? I never had my carotid or
transcranial doppled before :)

I took the following string from your post
carotid and transcranial doppler tests
and gave it to Google. There is a lot to read there about it, but this site
http://www.chclibrary.org/micromed/00068730.html
says
TCD gives valuable information about the site of a stroke and the patient's
progress after a stroke. TCD is also used to evaluate the contraction of
blood vessels that can occur if a blood vessel ruptures.
and that is followed by a description of the procedure which is totally
non-invasive.

Sounds like your doctor wants to determine if your seizures are
instead restricted blood flow rather than epileptogenic.
