I went on vacation to Daytona Beach Florida and while down there I met
Hurricane Charley. It was rather disturbing 90mph sustained winds with gusts
up to 120mph. Down in Punta Gorda Florida they had 145mph sustained winds
with gusts up to 180mph. I would have ran from there. I stayed in the hotel
I was in and watched it from the Lobby and some from the Balcony of my room.

Here is a link to some of the pictures I took the day of the hurricane and
also the damage the day after the storm. Have a look if you want to see a
sample of the destruction a category 1 Hurricane can cause. Just imagine
what a category 4 would have done. It would have been terrifying to say the
least....

But the good news is I am still seizure free. It is now going on two months.
I have lost track of the exact amount of time. That is a good thing I
suppose.

New Scientist said it was category 4 and also that there's going to be
more hurricanes than usual hitting the US this season :((  Guess we're
in for some rough weather for a while :((  Just glad we only get the
whiplash of the hurrican's tail here but that's quite enough thanks
:((

It was a category 4 when it hit Punta Gorda and the Port Charlotte Florida
area, however when it hit Daytona Beach the winds had died down to a
Category 1. We were lucky for that.

very much so. a friend emailed me and they got some pretty substantial
damage. I dunno how bad it was there... somewhere near the kissimee (sp?)
area.

Sounds like you were lucky as you are not hurt by the category 1/4
Hurricane Charley.

It is also good to hear you are seizure free as well.
