I went on vacation to Daytona Beach Florida and while down there I met Hurricane Charley. It was rather disturbing 90mph sustained winds with gusts up to 120mph. Down in Punta Gorda Florida they had 145mph sustained winds with gusts up to 180mph. I would have ran from there. I stayed in the hotel I was in and watched it from the Lobby and some from the Balcony of my room. Here is a link to some of the pictures I took the day of the hurricane and also the damage the day after the storm. Have a look if you want to see a sample of the destruction a category 1 Hurricane can cause. Just imagine what a category 4 would have done. I have lost track of the exact amount of time. That is a good thing I suppose. We were lucky for that.
