I've never had a baby or been around them before so my new daughter's
behavior is entirely new to me.  But something here is really concerning me
and it happens fairly regularly.  It usually happens in the morning when I
have her in her bouncy chair and she's just eaten.  She will go to sleep,
which is normal, she's only a month old.  But then she often gets very pale
and cool, even with blankets on, and her arms will freeze in the air with
fingers splayed out, as if she's reaching for something.  I'll go to give
her a little jiggle to see if she's breathing okay, and the breath is light
and shallow, then she will jerk pretty hard, and her hands will go in the
air, and then freeze there again as she goes back to sleep.

Her one leg and foot will shiver and shake a lot, and she'll stick it out,
when she's agitated or ready to sleep like this.

When she's like this, she will open her eyes when I move her but fall
quickly into the same out-of-it state, until I give her a bath or walk
around with her on my shoulder.  But it's the deepest sleep I've ever seen.
If she sleeps on my chest, or in her bed upstairs, this doesn't happen.

She doesn't do this at night, we have to be quiet because she sleeps
normally and can be awakened.

Is this normal or is this some kind of seizure?  Is it normal for infants to
sleep so deeply that their hands freeze in the air?  The paleness scares me
too.  I don't know.

Hi,
As your baby is still very young, do you see a child health nurse? Don't leap to drastic conclusions before you speak with someone with Medical knowledge, please, for your whole family's sake as much as baby!
I wish you well, rich.
I am copying this to your address in case you don't look in group every day?
