I have been on Keppra 1500mg TWICE
daily , for a while know, along with Dilantin and
Epilim , which i've been on for longer.
The last few weeks i've noticed that
my skin has tiny raised spots which are very itchy
and my body hair seems to be falling out in those areas
Could this be a results of the Keppra.Has anyone
had a similar experience?

although i'm not on Epilim aswell as you are. i was on Dilantin a while
which didn't work for me.
I live in Australia too!

Hi,

I take 2500 mg of Keppra a day and don't know.  I have a food allergy
from MSG, but sometimes I eat things that I know don't contain it, but
still have a reaction. Itching is the main problem with the unknown
cause, although the MSG can cause me not to breathe and about pass
out. I take Vistral instead of Benedryl, since the latter affects the
central nervous system.

I'm on 1000mg/ day (500mg x 2).  Have any of you had to increase your Keppra
dosage over time?  When I  started taking it five months ago it worked great
but lately I've been having break through seizures.  Debating whether going
to higher dose would help or I'd find myself needing to raise again every
3-5 months.

Ringworm causes the same symptoms.

I had to transition to Keppra from Lemactil (sp?) and before that Dilantin,
both because of the side-effect of a rash and/or severe itching of my arms
and legs. Itching and rash were the two side-effects I was told to be the
most alert for, as they may be signs of an allergic reaction-
particularly, the liver's inability to adequately process the medication.
My doctor began transitioning me to Keppra immediately. I haven't had the
side-effect with Keppra and take 2000mg a day.
I recommend telling your doctor immediately.

Hi all,
I take a similar mix of drugs, but 5 grammes/day of Keppra! According to the pamphlet in the Keppra box, the symptoms below are CLASSIC signs of Keppra side effects. I state this not on my own authority but from talking to my neurologist and reading the pamphlet! You should contact your doctor immediately!
BUT do not stop taking the drug before advice from a doctor It could cause you to have seizures?
regards and best of luck, Rich.

This sounds more like ringworm, which is a fungal skin infection and has
nothing to do with worms or parasites. This stuff is pretty contagious.
