Hi,

My daughter is 14 and has intractable epilepsy and learning
difficulties.  She has been through many drug changes, none of which
appear to have significantly reduced her seizures.  Hence one gets
prepared to try any safe alternative approaches.

I've seen a ThoughtStream Personal Biofeedback Training System at the
following sites:

UK: http://www.electronichealing.co.uk/products/thoughtstream.htm

USA: http://www.mindmodulations.com/prodthou.html

To the best of our knowledge she does not suffer from photosensitive
epileptic seizures.

My question is - has anyone in this newsgroup got first hand experience
of using one of these devices, and if so, what do they think?  Did it
reduce seizures?

Secondly, if it helped, do you think someone with fairly severe learning
difficulties would be able to get the hang of them?  She likes computer
games, and I think they come with PC games you can control through the
device.

Thanks in advance.

Pete

Pete,

Well its not one of the devices and not first-hand experience, but I
have seen something interesting.  Epilepsy being genetic in my family,
I have a cousin who in his teens said he just "willed-away" his
simple-partials.  He's in his early '30s now and never has had a
problem since.
