Hello,

I was prescribed 30mg of Temazepam (Restoril) to help me sleep.  Being
epileptic, I was told it would not trigger seizures.  I took it for 3
nights and each day afterwards suffered severe simple partials that
only 2mg of lorazepam would knock out.  The fourth night I didn't take
it and nothing happened the next day.

I take the following regularly:
Keppra 3500 mg daily
Lamictal 300mg daily
Effexor 225mg daily

I haven't found anything in the Physicians Desk Reference about
interactions, but alot about Keppra seems to be unknown.  My Doctor
just said to cut the nightly dose of Temazepam in half, but I am
scared of taking it at all now.

Does anyone have any information or ideas that they can share with me?

Thanks,

Eric

Temazepam is available in 10 mg, 20 mg aswel. Try the other ones. I feel wel
by 10 or 20 mg. besides the phenobarbital  twice a day 50 mg. With 10 mg
temazepam i wake up after 4 hours, and have to take another 10 mg.

Good luck.

Temazepam is known to lower the seizure threshold. I took it twice and both
times I had a grand mal. Needless to say I don't take it anymore.
