Hi,
I am not sure if anyone lives in the Phildelphia area or anywhere even
close but if so have you heard of Dr. Michael Sperling? He is the
director of the epilepsy center at Thomas Jefferson Medical Hospital.
I did some research on him and he seems to have quite a resume. I was
just curious to know if anyone has had personal contact with him and
how your experience was? I will be seeing him in August (maybe sooner
if there is a cancellation).
Thanks, Amanda

A quick search on google:
http://www.jeffersonhospital.org/neuro/e3front.dll?durki=8578
When I do a quick search on my own neurologists name, then I receive "0"
hits....hhhhmmmfffff.

Maybe yours was too busy attending to patients...;-)
I recently went to a "big-wig" neurologist with even
more impressive credentials than the one above appears
to have ("looks" can be deceiving in web-pages like
this - think "resume"... ;-), and he turned out to be a really
terrible doctor. My guess: mine was an "academic climber",
with more interest in accumulating credits than in really
helping people. I have much more respect for my local
neurologist, though he has few "credits"...

That maybe it then. Let's give the credits to these neurologists which are
not mentioned on google :-)

Howdy Amanda!
My doctor is head of the Strong Epilepsy Center in Rochester, NY.
I've gotta' tell ya'... ever since my doc became the head of the department
he seems to have a lot less time for his patients. That's probably due to
administrative work.
I kind of wish that my doc wasn't the dept. head anymore -- I got more
attention when he was just a staff doctor!

Hi Amanda
A friend of mine, who is an epileptologist in Tampa, Florida
has referred several patients to Dr. Sperling and feels that
he is one of the best.

Michael

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your help. I look forward to hearing a 2nd opinion from
him. The past year has been hectic and crazy for me.
