Howdy!

I saw mention made of "going to university" in another thread. Instead of
burying my post there, I thought that I'd start a new thread about it.

As soon as you start you should check out 2 resources and get acquainted
with them.

1. The Ombudsman's Office:
These folks will help you work out any "unique problems" that might turn up.

2. Office of Special Services:
(That's what they called it at RIT.)
This is an offices that will give you special support.
If you have a lot of partial seizures, they may provide a note-taker for
you.
I needed extra time for tests so I got my tests sent to the office where I
could take the test under supervision without any time constraints.
I also got free tutors.

sine i was diagnosed with a brain tumour and epilepsy, i am now on long term
disability from work....
which means i get paid to do a lot of nothing...
so i enrolled in university on a part time basis, and the school was more
than helpful to accomodate me. so i can confirm with dave with all the
extras you get when in this situation.

i got extended time on essays. exams were written in a supervised room and
was given an extra hour for my final. if i were to have a seizure, they'd
stop the clock, and when i recovered, if i was able to, i could continue...
or i could just write the exam again at a different time.

notetakers were offered and i did use them (as i missed a couple classes due
to my head). i didn't know about the tutors though... im enrolled for next
year, i think i might take advantage of this, as i suck at writing essays.
and above all... work the 'pity' angle. they'll pass you with flying
colours! kidding.... :)

You're right Phil, I was grumpy.  Probably low on sugar.  My apologies.
