Hi

Has this group been dormant?

I haven't seen any new posts since April 19. It is April 21.

Thanks.

You're here, but you are not on other servers.

You still don't understand.

I will try again for you:

alt.support.epilepsy is not alt.support.epilepsy on all ISPs.

Messages do not show up consistantly on different servers.

You may see this, but how would you know if you did not?

Now, I have not been receiving messages on my Outlook Express. Maybe
other people with epilepsy who use Outlook may be experiencing the
same problem and would like to know that.

See this?

Maybe you are the only one who does.

The newsgroups are all named alt.support.epilepsy, but they only share
some of the posts - not others.

Got it yet?

OK. I said it again.

You try to figure it out.

Have fun.

Thank you

Mark

I think if Mark had wanted to reply that way to you, that he would have
written you Direct.  He KNOWS (as does Bob) that *I'm having trouble getting
my Server to load all the messages that get sent here in a Timely Manner.

So while he might have been replying on Your Message Thread, I Suspect,
like *I sometimes do on medications or seizure types, etc.  that he was
putting up a Generic Message for the 2-300 Lurkers who also read the group,
and might want to participate if only they could get their Computer and
Network Access to behave properly.

The threads below (older mails) he posted onto the group since it had
gone quiet from Normal 20-40 posts a day. You replied that you were on the
group, he replied that not **all of the servers were showing all of our
mails, then tried to explain how they might be routed or handled different
from some other routers (since you said 'I don't understand', and He has had
some messages show up on One Subscription Route that were Not present on
another version of the Group that he reads. )
Then without knowing who's reading the thread or if you understood, he
just gave one description of how messages get routed (probably for **me to
read).

He was trying to explain how messages are routed, so that some of us get
*more messages that are Really on the 'group' than others do-->  To which
you said you didn't like to be patronized.    .....   Did you want an answer
to 'is anyone here'?  or not?   Since that's where that thread started from.

I rarely post a Reply that's intended for just One person on a group.
If it were, I'd send it Direct to that One person.

I think what he might have been trying to say (although probably assuming
we're all 'geeks in training' (gits?), was that some of the Servers or
message switches that delivery the mails, might either Delay messages if one
of their Switches is down or corrupted by 'voles' or trolls, Or might not
forward some of the messages if a link were down for an extended period.
Most times, wherever the source of my switches is (are?), when I
responded earlier, I had only received about 3-4 messages in 12 hours, so
the group didn't appear to be losing messages so much as it had been quiet
for awhile.

At one point too, I wondered if some of the relays might have been
'plugged' by a few of those messages on Electro Shock Therapy since the one
(new?) poster had sent about 3-4 messages that were more than 20K in Size,
compared to most of our plain text stuff that is usually under 3-5 (well
except for Mine! :-<  ).

It might have been Late at night when he wrote or during an 'off
moment'.

Mark, Behave yourself.  Mary was trying to see if the servers were down
(broken) or if her messages on the Group (from others and To the Group and
You) were not being sent properly.   We all run into that from time to time
and she was trying to help by replying to **your Note (below)  .   G.R.

This got WAY out of control. There is no reason to continue this
except to drive a stake through it.

There was no malice in my reying to inform this group about problems
with some servers. I was not trying to "patronize" anyone. Whether or
not I did is irrelevant, anyway.

Please let me respond, then scream, flame, walk away, win lottery or
just enjoy the life The Creator has given us today. Thanks.

There was NO ambiguity in what I wrote. I don't need an interpreter.
Or a wheelchair and please, don't put anything between my teeth when I
am having a seizure.

Nope. Read my post again.

Nope. My servers were inactive on this group for three days.

Nope. I have a huge cache on my servers.

Awwww. He was just being an Epileptic. Don't pay any attention to him.
(Was I being "patronized"?)

I wrote it during the afternoon. I stay at home. I am too sick to work
right now. Tomorrow - hosptal again.

They are all "off moments", Honey.

Do you really think I care about "patronizing" a one particular person
out of thousands on a newsgroup? Talk about the Illusion of Central
Position...

>     Mark, Behave yourself.

Gordon...

Don't admonish me. I wrote a legitimate post.

Behave yourself.

                                 ?

Are you psychic?

How did you devine that from her snotty post?

It sounded like something else to me. Either way, I see you galloping
to the rescue, so I better retreat now, but in the Zone of the Next
Time don't try to interpret for anyone else; you can see where that
gets you :-)

Mary has ALWAYS been NASTY to me (and other people who post). I know
she is sick, but her posts to me are gratuitously truculent.

I will be, too if I ever get flammed again.

Mary wasn't "trying to see if the servers were down", I was. Mary was
trying to be clever. Trying.

Thanks, I appreciate yor input. Subject closed, or at least obscurred.
The servers are malfunctioning. I don't care if anyone understands or
not. I found  a way around it.

You may not be seeing all the posts. Oops. I must be epileptic. I am
repeating myself myself.

There were a few posts on the 19th & 20th. I see that you are using
Outlook Express on Road Runner. Have you set up any "News Rules" in
Outlook Express? or are you running an anti-virus program like Norton?

Greetings

Never mind. I sent the original message "Anyone there?" before I got a
response from  Barb via Linda. I did not get a message directly from Barb.

I got it today (4/21).

I presume Linda's response to my post was the only message in the last two
days.

Thanks

 It was (dormant, below).

I just wrote you (direct) since about 4 of us did some posts that were
about 30-50K long and I had wondered if your Local Server might have 'Maxed
Out'  on our 'chat' on the values of ElectroShock Fog Clearing  .... :-<

Our ISP had a 'brownout.'  Couldn't get on the internet at all
yesterday.  Very light newsgroup postings and almost no spam mail
either.
