Does anyone know whether the ADA recognizes seizure disorders as a
disability and whether one would be qualified for ssi or Medicare
disability?

TO both of your questions yes.  Epilepsy is covered under the ADA and also if
the seizures are bad enough to prevent you from working then yes for SSI or
Medicare, I am receiving SSDI now since I am unable to work anymore.  Hope this
helps.  Ann

The full text of the Americans with Disabilities Act is on line. The status
of people with epilepsy is also under attack again because epilepsy can be
controlled with drugs in some cases. Search the subject for recent news
articles and you will see what I mean.

I quit reading this group last year because of the insipid posts about
England and irrelevant noise some posters think is clever. It is still going
on. It may be fun for some, but this is where people look for information on
epilepsy, not flatulence about presumptuous British "humor". Don't bother to
reply about this comment. I'm not interested and, really, it isn't that
important. There are other places to get information on the subject when you
need it.

The only thing funnier than laughing at the Brittish...

That message was posted ~6? days ago or longer?  Perhaps you can get a
newsreader that's more up to date.

The junk being posted at the time had little to nothing to do with a few of
the newer people trying to get through to get information about their new
lifestyle.  Your post bottom had exactly what? to do with living with
epilepsy?
(I took out extra line breaks-- guess your isp don't do that either.)

And cox.net is a U.S.  ISP ?  The fellow who posted the message that
regaled you so much used to work at a U.S. Newspaper.   When they found out
he was newly diagnosed with Epilepsy, they fired him.     G.

The social security administration has online publications at

Here's another link regarding the ADA and epilepsy
