Anyone noticed how quiet it's been around here recently?
Does anybody have any plausible theories as to why this might be??

We prefer a quiet life?

Recoil reaction from the 5 personalities we had arguments with last week?
Some of mails were directed at you on the group.   Did you miss their's?   I
don't have it, unless it's in my Troll's folder.    ALL the posts from those
5? people arguing about terminology etc. with some of our Regular Posters,
were from One person... posting as ~5 fake names.

Hopefully they've left.    My Spamkiller software went from ~12 posts a
day to 60, and is now back to 45 this morning (decreasing).   Often when
there's someone like that, who we assume has Epilepsy or at least Knows
someone who has, we might miss a Phisher or a Troll who doesn't even have
seizures or experiences with the Dark Side of waking up in Emerg. or in
Hospital, and finding they've been on Monitors for 4 days.

I have to wonder what kind of Personality gets value out of doing that.
I can't find one that I'd want to associate with anyway.
I think there are also some Sports and other stuff on this weekend,
although I don't know the times.  I saw the end of the Football (U.S.) last
week but missed the First half and any 'entertainment' that was on.    The
Game wrt skill etc. was excellent.   And I think there's either a Motor Race
or UK Cup? going on in the UK.

You're in Summer down there too.   SOME of the Northern areas (or North
East of N.America at least) are somewhere under the snow !!  They might be
still digging out.     Can't speak for UK or Europe -- we used to have 4-5
people from over there posting too.    G.R.

(I found out that *5 chipmunks in my backyard have built their own
Underground Railroad -- they have about 8 tunnel entrances at extreme
corners of the yard where the **Snow has Crusted to a hard shell on top.
Then they have entrances thru that crust at those ~8 points, and built
subway routes underneath in the Soft Snow...   We were watching them playing
tag while the Barbeque was running last night.  )

WRT Group posts,   Maybe the traffic will pick up if you start a New Subject
or Question.   E.G.  What sort of restrictions are you under 'down there'
when you get Diagnosed, wrt Driving etc.
Do YOU have to report if you have seizures or take seizure medication as
a condition on the licence renewal?  or is your Doctor supposed (legally) to
contact the Motor Vehicle people, to tell them you are Newly Diagnosed and
should have your Licence withdrawn or suspending until you're controlled ?
You probably know but only post to one group at a time.
If you turn on 'display all newsgroups' or whatever it's called on your
system,  about twice a week we'll get someone send a post to 3-5 groups with
the one message.  Problem with that is if someone does a "reply to group"
their group reply and E-address will go to all *5 groups whether they're
subscribed on those or not.    I stopped listing any of those-->  some
lurkers who never post complained about it.  I just don't reply to any
Crossposted thread.

  2)  Are there any OTHER restrictions,  Social or Legal, you've
encountered since being diagnosed that  you DIDN'T HAVE before you were
diagnosed?   (I assume your's is semi-recent?)
2a)  Have any of your Friends or Family started acting more protective or
remote since you were diagnosed?  How about co-workers or others you
socialize with?
(I was surprised how FEW people thought it was any kind of deal, and
knew very little about what the symptoms were or even what 'epilepsy' was,
since they hadn't encountered it.)

(This is going out about *Noon:20 Sunday, even though it's overnight
already Monday Morning down there.  If your reader timestamps incoming
messages, this is Eastern Time location in North America.   There are *2
timezones East of me, and *3 West of me for the whole width of the
Continent.    We haven't had someone from Alaska (another timezone) post
since about 2001.   UK is 5 hours East of my time (they're at Universal Time
clock).  We've also had posters from Germany and Italy from time to time.  )

g'day gr
fortunately i haven't a problem with spam any more. since i changed to dsl i
have a new email address and i guard it carefully, but i have been receiving
a lot of viruses lately and norton's have stopped pulled them up. i will say
it's disconcerting to receive 5 - 7 viruses thru the mail every time you
turn on outlook.

i saw the weather for the northern regions of america and canada and i'll
stick to the sub-tropics thank you very much. i remember changes in air
pressure used to cause you problems does the cold affect you. i know during
the first few days of a cold snap i get the odd aura.

I wonder if some of my mails got through to you?   I think I wrote you
once or twice about 2? weeks ago, but didn't get any 'undelivered mail'
notice -- although one of the things I like with Spamkiller, if I choose and
it opens that option,  I can tell it to send a 'no such address found'  echo
to the troll for some of the mails that go to my main inbox.  Most of the
trolls I'm getting are using a harvested list of Rogers (Cable ) Internet
customers.   Most of the filters I discard are people who went to xxx sites
then removed the cable, and the isp sends Their mails on to me... :-<
I discard about 7 countries, plus uunet? and aol? now.  So mails from
any of them get put out without me seeing them.    I gave them both 4 weeks
last summer to clean up, and they didn't.

My Spamkiller flags about 8 Worms a Day, that's partly why I was getting
snarky about 'my having to post too many times to explain or defend some
one-sentence comment, that I didn't think needed 8 posts to explain', more
than basic support stuff here (the number of times I was posting per day,
reply to some posts, that didn't seem to help my trying to help some
people).
The more I post, the more the Euro harvester-robots, and wherever the
other ones are, pick up the sender addresses.  Of about 12 Filters I have
set, 10? now just Auto Discard the mails without me even seeing who it's
from.    Most of the earlier filters, the trolls have fake From addresses or
use <> to try hide the source site.  Opening the headers shows the <>'s
contents and the Provider of the internet access.

**G* Those stopped ~3? years ago After my Episode with the Car (me standing
on his Hood as he drove away in a Panic).   Since waking up in Emerg.,
that's the last time I've been at a hospital.    I only get Minor auras now,
and don't get any warning that I can detect of  *Low Air pressure coming
(rain/snow).   I wouldn't recommend that as a Solution to anyone to stop
Complex Partial Seizures,  and I still take the same Med. doses I have since
~1996.  But I sure don't miss the Extreme right side headaches I sometimes
got in place of an aura as the Air Pressure dropped.

I had *no symptoms during takeoff and landing of my 4 Flights last
September from here to Hawaii to get my Son married off.  I was concerned
that being at Sea Level (rather than 2000 feet/600m) might produce risk of
auras, but there were *absolutely no symptoms during the whole 1 week there.
I was concerned that worst risk might be as they pressurized the enclosed
cabin, preparing for take off, but there was nothing.  Only I wasn't able to
sleep on either of the 4 hour flights x 4,  and I even had trouble
concentrating to read much of the ~3 books I took to read enroute.

Hawaii Weather --> Each afternoon, it seemed to Rain for 10 minutes,
then stop...  very strange.   I guess it helps the crops.   But no 1.5 metre
snow drifts to deal with.  No cloud or rain from Dawn to Dark.

I forgot to pick up a real estate paper before leaving to see how much
(U.S. dollars) a small cabana might cost.  But I also had mixed feelings
about how secure a 'remote U.S. place', like a Tourist Mecca, might be, what
with world events that developed as they organized the wedding etc.     I'd
like to go back for their Anniversary or sooner.
John Rune had wanted me to take some pictures of scenes he could paint,
and I never even got to the souvenir shops to get some Books of Postcards to
mail him.   Most of those had scenes that might have been what he'd wanted.
I took 2/3 roll of film,  just need something Here to finish the roll.
Maybe I can figure out how to load a few into the Scanner and set them up.
Don't know if there's a 'plain text'  way to load those.  But if I finally
set up the website I already pay for and load them onto that....   If it's
sunny tomorrow maybe I can Zoom some Photos of  the Flying Klezmer
Chipmunks....    G.  (1x **s below)

We were watching them playing tag while the Barbeque was running last

**G*   We have a Propane Barbecue that is sheltered on the deck so we were
able to bribe
our Son and his Bride to visit by having Sirloin Spiced Steaks during
breaks in Snowfalls.
I can't put 'shrimp on the barbie' since I'm allergic to shellfish, I
think.  Once was enough. )

TIMMCO - 09 Feb 2004 00:10 GMT
Hi GR -

The chipmunks frollicking by the barbeque sounds dynamite.

This is being written by my main screen name.  You may have thrown some others
in the heap because I have only used 3 total:  this, UnknownOrigen and
MizterGeometry - wherever
I happened to be when I accessed alt.support.epilepsy.  I wonder
if someone else is impersonating me.

May I ask you a personal question, related to my studies in psychology?  Could
you please indicate the number and sex of
your siblings and where you fit in numerical order?   Also, do you
have kids of your own?  That would be very much appreciated.

Best regards,  Tim   (this has always been consistent, whatever the computer
screen name said!  :-)   )
