since I started taking Lamactil I've been having some psychological
effects.  Anyone else having any psychological effects from this drug?
Thanks.

I had the most vivid, wild dreams while taking it.  Once I sat up in bed
with tears running down my face.  Nothing when awake, though.

Also, swollen lymph nodes are a symptom of a reaction to Lamictal and
should be taken as seriously as the rash you have likely been warned about.

There is a web site about Lamactil at
http://us.gsk.com/products/assets/us_lamictal.pdf that gives results of
some of their testing and also has basic info about the drug.  It would be
a good idea to talk with the pharmacist because maybe something else you
are taking in combination with the Lamactil is contributing to the
problem.

Now, did you stop taking any other medications at the same time you
started the Lamactil (I'm thinking of the possibility of breakthrough
seizure symptoms).  I am assuming you have simple or complex partial
seizures because that is what Lamactil is usually prescribed for (in
addition to bipolar disorders, which is more of a mental health issue).

Since I don't know exactly what you mean by psychological effects.  I have
to guess you could be having some of the mental symptoms that show up with
simple and complex partial seizures.  I guess mental symptoms isn't a good
word, but it's about the closest description I can think of right now.  If
you want to know more about these mental things that happen with simple or
complex partial seizures, pop a note here and I'll try to help you.

g'day bob,
do you reckon the lamictal could be reacting with something else your
taking/consuming?
