I was on prozac for awhile and stopped because i thought maybe i didnt
need it anymore. Now, i want to go back on it.The other day i read on a
website that people with seizures shouldnt take prozac. Is anyone here on
prozac?

you can read that on any SSRI medication....

prozac, paxil, and especially celexa have these warnings. i'm on tegretol,
and i've been in and out of a couple SSRI's, and i feel that they have
lowered my threshold for seizures. i'm in the stage of getting off the
SSRI's altogether, and seeing how that works in terms of my seizure
frequency.

actually my first seizure ever was when i was on prozac.

I was prescribed prozac by a doctor who knew I was
taking anti-convulscents for epilepsy.  This was
quite a while ago, but all the same, I took them
together.

Hi Jamie,

I take 40 mg. of Prozac each morning for the depressive part of my
mental illness. I also take 1200 mgs. of Neurontin each day for my
epilepsy. Both my internist and psychiatrist at the Mayo Clinic are
cognizant of my med intake. Neither of them have informed me of
possible negative drug interaction with the Prozac and epilepsy. My
last seizure was in 1998.
