Hi,
I just had a question. I took my son to see his pediatrician today. He
is 14 and has a hard time being still and concentrating. The doctor
ruled out ADD but said a name of something, I can't remember what he
said now but it had epileptic in it. Would any of you know what it was
he might of called this condition? My son did have a few seizures when
he was a baby. He nearly died at the age of 6 months with an intestinal
blockage. So I'm thinking he could have whatever it was the doctor
called this. He ordered a brain wave test on him to be done soon. He
said that would tell if he had this condition or not. Can anyone help
with what it was he might of called this condition? If so, I thank you
in advance! Christi

Something like "Juvenile Myoclonic Seizures" ??    Howdy Dave has a link to
efa.org (Ep. Foundation of America) via his Website at end of  his Posts (I
should remember the addr. by now -- http://efa.org ?? )
Or if you have any of Julie Walton's posts still up, she lists the Idaho
Website at end of her posts.  There is a Link to efa.org  site within the
Idaho site, but there may also be items related to Children within the
*Idaho website too.
Check the First aid for Seizures chart, in case it lists what to do
during a seizure, that might a **Different that what to do with us Complex
Partials, Petit Mals or Gran Mal types of seizures... G.

P.S.  The more Detailed 'Medic' type stuff might be somewhere within the
EFA site, while the Idaho site (Julie's) is more oriented toward us
Non-Doctors, and might have comments and information shared by Families,
using more non-medical level, but people understandable, language.  //

what about calling the doctor and asking him to repeat what he said?
Julie - 14 Nov 2003 05:21 GMT
Hi Christi, TIMMCO give good advise.  That would also be my suggestion.
Call the doctor's office and tell them you want the name of what your
doctor said may be your son's condition.  Ask them to look in the chart
and spell it out for you.  You can also ask for the exact test that will
be performed so you can get more familiar with that.

Let us know how things go, and feel free to ask the group any questions.
