Bad news 5 years after surgery

I had a right temporal lobe surgery 5 years ago. I felt much better, I had
only very mild simple partials since. However, the other night was scary.
I woke up in the middle of the night to a strong stomach ache.I sat on the
toilet and felt that a warm feeling came up to my chest. I put my arm on the
sink and I laid my head on it as I knew that probably I would black out as
it happened before a long time ago in similar situation. I wanted to protect
my head in case of blacking out.
The next thing I remember a bit was that I had a seizure. It is kind of
weird, as I was blacked out and having seizure, still I was able to realize
that I was having a seizure. At the same time I felt very weird and pain in
my face.
The next thing I remember is waking up on the bathroom floor my mouth and
noise bleeding. Probably I banged my face against the sink during the
seizure then fell to the floor.
This is scary. After the surgery I thought I will be OK, but now looks like
the same old thing is coming back.
Do you know whether it is likely the the seizures would be renewed after 5
years?
Thanks

Do you think you were really sick (flu, bug or something) or that the stomach
ache was from the seizure?  Some people's seizure threshold drops when they get
sick or have an elevated temperature.

So sorry to hear about your seizure.  I'm sure you will inform your doctor.  I
think each individual is different when it comes to control of their seizures
either with medication, VNS, or surgery.

I have had my share of episodes in the bathroom.  I've come to the conclusion
that I will lay on the floor as soon as I start to feel like I could have a
seizure.

Take care,
Julie

Thank you for your replies.
Looks like to me, that my treshold is dropping when I am sick. Also, the
couple of weeks ago I was very close to having a full blown seizure. All day
I was emotionally sad due to a job rejection due to my illness. I was sad
and blue all day long. When I came home I had a small aura type of seizure
that progressively got worse. First I heard voices in my head, then I was
disoriented and had to sit down as I thought I would black out. Maybe 10
minutes past before I could stand up and go on my way.
What I think is that when I am stressed out and when I am sick I get these
things. I have not informed my doctor about this yet, as first I try to
eliminate these things in my life and see whether the seizures continue.
Thanks

Hi my name is Cindy,  I would love to talk to you about your surgery. I had a
temporalobe lobectomy in June 2002. I am doing great other than dealing with
anxiety.  Did you have any anxiety or depression after your surgery?
