Has anyone else had 'difficulty' obtaining tegretol xr 200's or 400's?

Our pharmacy never had enough 200's to fill the monthly script.  The
pharmacist said it was the manufacturer's fault.  He said there was no such
problem with the 400's.

After annual doctor's check-up, and discussion with him about the problems
getting the 200's, he wrote script for 400's.

Got the first month's rx of 400's with no problem.

This month, back to the same old same old - only a few days supply, come
back in 3 or 4 days.

This sh*t gets old.

Anyone else having problems with pharmacies maintaining adequate supplies of
tegretol/tegretol xr of any dosage?   Been told the same 'story' we get?

TIA

That problem with Tegretol IS "getting old"- so old in fact that I
switched to Carbatrol nearly 4 years ago! Not surprised that it's still
a problem...

From what I've heard, the manufacturer (in Mexico?) can't get
the ingredients to make enough to meet demand. I'm glad I switched!

I've had similar experience with tegretol and tegretol XR. There seemed to
be no problem getting the generic version - which is the only version my HMO
will pay for - but it didn't seem to work as well for me.

Something else with the XRs - they were passing right through me. Don't ask
how I know...

I have been taking tegretol for about 14 years and have never had a problem
getting them.  I did, however, go through what you're going through with some
other meds.  I switched pharmacies and never had the problem again, except on a
rare occassion.
