I have just subscribed to this group and was reading about "living the
seizures". My seven yr old daughter has multiple seizures daily. Medications
have not helped her in any way, except give her horrific side effects. The
worst type of seizure she goes through is when her body twists, her eyes
pull into her head, her muscles stiffen and her body jerks and shakes
uncontrollably. What makes this worse is hat she is conscious through the
whole thing, which can last 10mins or more. The fear on her face and the
screaming is heartbreaking to say the least. I videoed a couple of these
episodes to show her specialist, as they said she wouldn't be aware of what
was happening to her. Well she is. Her screaming seems to be caused through
cramping, as the muscles tighten so much, her body is as stiff as a board.
Afterwards she is exhausted and tearful, as we all are. It is frightening
for the whole family to see. I much prefer it when she has a generalised
seizure and is unaware of what has happened. That is so much easier to cope
with.
I just wanted to write in and let you know, you're not on your own. There
are others who live the seizures too. All the best to you !!

Hi Kerrie and Nuku!
it is true what your daughter says, same experience as here with us!
Please read also my post in the thread of

"Re: CPS + noct /DAVE, please"
and please Do comment! I would be so grateful.
Does your daughter also have szrs out of her sleep, half asleep and half
conscious? Are you sometimes able to calm her down? How are you doing this?

That is so horrible. I can't imagine going through that. I hope these kids
can find help.

Thanks Kris, I am doing everything I can to get my daughter the help she
needs. Unfortunately living in a small country doesn't help, but we're doing
the best we can.

Howdy Kerrie!
Living in a small country?
If you were to contact the World Health Organization do you think that they
might be able to point you in the right direction?
