Seriously Stressed - 03 Jun 2007 13:57 GMT
I have TLE, PTSD with severe depression, anxiety & borderline
personality disorder. Can anyone offer any advice on ECT with that
collection? I'll be seeing my G.P. at the end of the week & I'll
obviously be asking him. However I'd welcome any lay advice or
suggestions of questions to ask him.

I suffer with many different types of seizures, but can I tell you about
when my multiple-TC siezures come, they used to come about 4-5 in one
day, but nowadays when they appear, it's only about 5-6 in a week, so
my mind is treating me a little better at least.

Anyway my mind always starts playing around with me and telling me that
things aren't what they should be, I hear music that isn't playing,
almost always lose control of my co-ordination, and even forgot who the
man lying in the bed next to me was once.

I was bought to the hospital by hubby when I used to live in London,
(about 10 years ago) after having several TC seizures in one burst, and
ended up attacking and wanting to kill all the doctors and nurses. I
was there for about 2 weeks under the supervision of a psychiatrist
before they let me go.

Nowadays as my multiple seizures aren't all in one burst, they're not so
violent, but hubby'll still try to keep me indoors if they do occur, as
I'll always end up with the obvious silly after effects of the fit,
like running around kissing boys I don't know on the street, and
besides, I also end up with those blasted bruises all over one side of
my face, that don't go away, spoil evenings out and which make him look
like a wife batterer.

I think as long as every time your having a seizure you simply just have
to remember that you're not going mad and it's your mind playing games
with your senses again, then you'll be alright - it's what I do, as
like you, I've never had an explanation from any doctor why I do this,
and I don't think they know either.
