i looked for a seizure group and found none, so here i am.

i had a seizure a while back, which i assumed was psychogenic.  i felt
moody for 24 hours, then i lost most of my motor control, and felt like
i had tunnel vision.  i assumed i was dying.  i hit the floor and
bounced between the (hallway) walls convulsing.  when that was over, i
started speaking in tongues.

given the demonic nature, it seemed obvious it was a non-epileptic
seizure.  but reading stuff on epilepsy sites leads me to believe that
the wierd things were due to broca's area being stimulated.

i'm wondering if i should get a second opinion from a brain doctor or
specialist.

Before doing your own diagnosis, a couple of questions if you don't
mind (will help others respond with direct related experience too).
I don't remember seeing anything (much) posted here since 1997 about
psychogenic seizures, except for one person and their doctor one time.
The symptoms if they recur should be looked at.  If it was a one
time event, you might want to wait until it returns.   Question I had
-->  how do you know you were 'speaking in tongues', or did someone
see that?   Except for a simple partial seizure (aura) most of us are
unaware of what we do or say during stronger seizure types.  And most
of the latter end in unconsciousness if they are not controlled by
treatment or medications.
I only found out what I was doing (1993-97) by others telling me
afterward, or by having them during EEGs and other tests since I was
having mine so often at that time.  If your's was only a 'one of '
type of feeling or if it's not happening a lot, that makes it more
difficult to measure and find during an EEG or more detailed tests
like a CT scan or MRI.
IF the neurologist thought the events were strong enough to show
up on tests then they might refer you on for one or more of above
tests to be sure.   The seizure list of 'what I did' during one, I
only assembled from family or witnesses, as once the szr. moves beyond
a Simple Partial phase, we no longer (usually) are aware what we did
or said.   At that point we can be at risk of injury etc. from
machinery, traffic, etc.    We *don't know that we are e.g. swearing,
speaking in tongues or singing.   The awareness at that point is shut
off-- One non-medical opinion.
About a week ago? I posted a list of about 5-6 websites I had
assembled from regulars who used to read and post here.  If you can
find one of those posts, there might be something under the First Aid
for Seizures, or Symptoms pages under efa.org that might show symptoms
I'm referring to.   The 'demonic nature' etc. referred to earlier
don't apply to a medical condition, although some types of injury or
stimulation can produce hallucinations and other feelings that might
feel that way.     Hope some of that helps, G./
(This group was disrupted last October by a 'kid' who's likely
offline now.  But several regulars who posted frequently, and were
significant sources of experiences and information for posters like
yourself, have not returned so far as I know.   Perhaps they'll see
your message over the next week, so **check the group to see what's
been put up for you. But we're a long way down, unfortunately, from
the 20-30+ posts per day it was at before 'the kid'.  Perhaps he'll
get an incapacitating disease and find how frustrating it is getting
help, w. Noise like himself in the way.)

there are troll groups active in the support hierarchy.  they generally keep
a low profile, but they talk about these places on alt.troll (etc).  there
are hackers that go after these trolls and make life quite miserable for
them.

there are dangerous groups like the suicide ones, where psychopaths
"befriend" very sick people.  those people should be lined up and mowed down
with a machine gun.

well it felt as if a presence had taken over my body, and that a part of me
was a 3rd person observer.  you could loosely relate it to the "stepping out
of your head" that happens with hallucinogens, although i didn't experience
the spatial shift, if you've done LSD you know what i'm talking about.

during the convulsions, i felt trapped in my mind, and had no control over
the body.

thanks for your comments.

Can you see an older post *I did about 1+ ? weeks ago (on this group)
titled something like 'Websites I've found useful' ?   Within that are
about 6 various sites from First Aid to Medications to other
information on seizure types and the symptoms of each.
If you're aware* of what's going on, I think the only seizure that
can happen is a Simple Partial seizure, sometimes called an Aura.
Check in the meantime the U.S. Ep. Foundation site, what it says about
SP szrs. and see if some of the symptoms look like what you had.   EFA
are at -->
