If my earlier post got posted properly I listed a website to look up
Epival. I don't know anything about it *or about Topamax, but you can
use the same link to look up Topamax and it will tell you *what type
of seizures it might be used for, what *not to use with it (often
alcohol like earlier post I said), and how **best to use it. Your
Drug store or Pharmacy should have also given you a writeup **with the
Pills to tell how best to use them. If they didn't you could ask them
for one, OR for a website where you could read about it or Print it to
keep.
With any of the pills, it's important to take the rate the Doctor
says, and not Stop taking any or Miss any Doses. Many of the pills
don't like it if you e.g. miss 2 days then take them then stop again.
*And if the Doctor takes a bloodtest to see if it's the right amount
he wants for you, and you're not taking as many pills, he might tell
you to take some More each day to try fix that (blood level of the
pill) -- Then you'd be taking too much of it. That can cause some
kinds of seizures as much as not taking Enough of the pills he gave
you.
*I don't know what A-type kinetic seizures are, and don't recall
seeing that name posted here since 1998. Someone Else might reply
over next 4-5 days if they still read here, and know what that is.
It might have a different name on that U.S. efa.org site and if it
does, the other name might help you find information better on that
website, about how that kind of seizure works.
That and the other sites I talked about are mostly in North
America, but a lot of the names of Pills or Seizure types are the same
around the world, so it could still be useful to you.
**There *was a uk.people.support.epilepsy group more than 8 years
ago, if you do any other Groups searches. *I stopped reading that
group (if it's still available), since many of the UK Health Groups
had too many Trolls and Kids posting dumb stuff who didn't have
epilepsy
*** If you didn't know or understand what kind of epilepsy you have
(you said on the first post), *how do you know that you're not having
a major form of epilepsy? (you just said above) Several of the more
severe ones some of us had, we can Faint or Pass out quickly if we
aren't taking the right amount of Pills or doing the right things to
control the seizures (like I said in Long post I did earlier). That
kind of seizure can be dangerous if we were crossing busy streets,
using buses or cars to get around. When we can feel if a seizure is
starting, OR stop all of them with Pills, then we also can be safer
and have less risk of getting injured or hurt. G./

Another Medications Information site I found (that someone else posted
here in March), had a link for Depakote at http://www.drugs.com/depakote.html
but you could try the Shorter version (I haven't tried) as http://www.drugs.com
and see if that takes you to a Glossary of Pills --- either scroll
down to the Topamax name, or type it in a search box (if there is one)
then click Find or Search (that will be by the search box).
If you want to look directly at your Older pill, it would be at
http://www.drugs.com/epival.html .
Usually this kind of search will have a coloured link that says
"Printable Version" or a small icon shaped like a Printer if you want
to print the page. Clicking on that will take out pictures and other
extra stuff usually, and give a black and white page that's easier to
print and use. /G.
You could try it from here --> http://www.drugs.com/topamax.html
(if that's the correct spelling of topamax/ I don't use it myself).
