Hi,
I just ask You a few questions. My doctor give me Orfiril, Lamitrin
and Frisium 10 (10-0-10). Frisum because I have got petit mal.
(probably Simple partial). Does Frisium is for Petit mal, or it's for
nervous people?

Hi.  Frisium (Clobazam) is usually taken as a *second pill with other
pills for seizures. I use it 10mg each morning and night time, with
Tegretol (in Morning).
(I have Complex Partial = temporal lobe seizures.)

It may also be a relaxant, which would help slow Electric waves in
the brain, for people who have my type of seizures, and your type if
you get nervous feelings.  I don't Know if it's a Tranquilizer, that I
think you were asking.
If your Pharmacy didn't give you a writeup when they gave you the
pills I can look up the link under http://efa.org  US Epilepsy site
that has a Medications Glossary.
I found the writeup *I got with mine. Some things it says include
--> "Medication can be taken with or without food, avoid consuming
alcohol or alcohol-containing products while using this medication."
"It is not advisable to stop taking this product suddently,
particularly after using it several weeks.  If you consider stopping
it, talk to your doctor or phamacy first. If you forget a dose, take it
soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose-- in
that case, skip the missed dose.  Do **not** take double the Next Dose
to catch up."
"As with most pills, store at room temperature, in a secure place
where it will not be exposed to high heat, moisture or direct sunlight.
**Keep it out of reach of young Children.**
Possible side effects --may cause drowsiness or dizziness-- use
caution if driving and avoid alcohol, may cause unusual tiredness,
occasionally it may cause weight gain."
"Each person may react differently to a treatment.  If you think
this medication may be causeing side effects (including those above or
others), talk to your Doctor or Pharmacy."
There is an additional warning at bottom to tell the **Pharmacy for
Women, if they are Pregnant or Breast-feeding."     (I think that's
because some of these pills can be passed on through the Mother's milk,
and when that stops the child can get same withdrawal effects listed at
top.)

It also says to tell the Pharmacy about other pills, but if you get
all the pills at the same place *they will then know if there is
anything else for you to watch out for, as side effects. Hope that
helps.  G./

I take Frisium (10-0-10), Orfiril (600-0-600) and Lamitrin
(150-0-150). I don't know what is true. Doctor told me that he give me
this because I'm simple partial, for a few minutes that he give me
this, becouse he can't get me more dose Orfilil and Lamitrin, because
I take max dose for me. And what is true?
Does when You took Frisium everythink is ok? When it had happend (for
a few days when You took it). For me now it's no one change. I took it
about 2 weeks.
And ones more questions. Did drugs could change EEG, that now I
haven't seizures when I was EEG, but many sharp waves?

I wish Yoy good health

I'm not a Doctor, but I think he's using the Frisium correctly, with
you.
It's an Add-on **with other pills (I use Tegretol + Frisium), so it
will help your Orfilil? and Lamitrin, since they can't give you *more
of those for your Body Weight + szr. type (***s above). So they're
trying to use Frisium to help your 2 pills to give you seizure control.

**If that doesn't work in a month or 2, they'll Slowly reduce the
Frisium and try another pill with the Orfilil and Lamitrin.    *I
didn't notice anything with the Frisium, but after a year taking an
extra half pill morning, then night, *I was at 10-0-10 you are taking
plus my Tegretol, and my Complex Partial seizures stopped at last.
I hope it might work for you too, since I haven't needed *any Pill
changes or Numbers per day, since then (1996).    I always thought I
might have to increase some pills after some time, but That never
happened with these...  I have used same Mgs. of Pills since 1996 now.
I hope it works for you too.   G.    (I posted another day, with
things to be careful with it, like alcohol and upset stomach remedies
and other medicines.  Our Pharmacy in Canada has information on all the
pills and what ones work with one kind, and which ones to be careful
with.  That's where I got information I typed in before. )  /

Orfilil (with lamitrin) help me in grand mal . But because I have
since last time also Complex Partial, so I must take Frisium. Today I
go to my doctors and they told me what next. Frisium help me , but a
bit.

Do You have side effects of Tegretol. I had, so I took Trileptal, but
after a few mounths side effects back. And it's reason why I take
Orfiril.
It's good that Your doctor give You good drugs and it help You. I hope
that it will help always.

So it's good news, if I good understand.

I hate alcohol, so I don't drink it. Few years ago I drunk it, and I
felt very bad. If I left to bed, I didn't know what has happend. Also
I felt like I was at roundabout.
Do You feel that seizures is comming? If yes, so what do You do. If I
fell this I take relanium (diazepam).

** Each of us takes different doses depending on body weight, rate we
absorb pills, and seizure type.   Frisium (below) we added in 5mg doses
Morning or night, as night Tegretol was removed.  I only use Tegretol
now in morning with Frisium.
Last seizure I had was June 1998.  I had 4-8 a year from 1993 to
1997.  No changes have been made to above Frisium and Tegretol CR doses
since about 1996. /

** I never had any EEGs when I got close to control with Tegretol, and
then Tegretol and Frisium.   I don't know what sharp waves mean, as I
didn't see the results, just my Neuro did.  So far as I know the pills
dampen out any sharp waves? that might be what trigger some seizure
types, so if those waves stopped, the seizures would too? /

*** I didn't have side effects with Tegretol, but some other people
here did. So I was able to use it for my type of Complex Partial
seizures. /

I used to get a swirling dizzy feeling, or taste of lemon as a
warning, when I had them. That was when I used the Lorazepam (Atavan) a
few times-- that's similar to diazepam.  But after 2-3 months on both
Tegretol and Frisium, I didn't get those feelings any longer, so
haven't used Atavan since about 1998.   G./
