34 yrs old . Had my first seizure ever last week. 9 months ago I hit my
head on concrete steps and had a laceration, and a scar on the speech
portion above my left molar. This seizure was strange, was sitting in
bed at 530 in the morning talking to my GF, getting ready for work when
she says (I dont remember any of this) that i got up on my knees and
pointed out the window like I was seeing the lord or devil or
something... then i fell backwards my feet got locked up in the bed
when part of my body hit the tv.Every muscle in my body tensed up and I
started foaming at the mouth and running out the nose. This lasted
OVER 5 MINUTES! went to the hospital, it felt like I ran a marathon and
then ran up 100's of flights of steps. Seems like a long time have a
seizure. They shot me up with Ativan at the hospital, which I had been
taking previously for panic attacks but was off of them for 3
months. Now they have me on 600 mg of carbamol and hydros for my
headaches. I did not get 1 hour of sleep the night before this happened
and always have headaches, doctor thinks this might be the cause.....

Welcome to the group. Sorry to hear about your seizure, but it might
help to know that there are many people coping with seizures. There
are many different kinds of seizures. I don't know where you live, but
most countries have an epilepsy support group, such as the Epilepsy
Foundation http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/.

Sounds like a seizure to me, but there are different reasons for people
to have seizure events. In your case the reason appears to be the bump
on your head.

I call this "been run over by a mac truck feeling". I haven't had a
tonic clonic seizure for 11 years now, but I remember the feeling. I
think it takes me about 1 to 2 weeks to start feeling like I have
strength and energy.

Yes, lack of sleep, stress are big time triggers for seizures. Also
some panic attacks are actually types of seizures.
We have info. on the Epilepsy Foundation of Idaho website regarding
seizure types and seizure safety.

The above could be correct; or you could have had a seizure due to
rapid withdrawal of the Ativan which you had been taking.
It is important to go to a neurologist or neurosurgeon and have some
studies done to make sure that the seizure was not caused by a tumor
or some other structural problem which might need attention.
