I've recently changed my medication from Tegratol to Topamax (what fun that
was).
But at 150Mg 2 x day paresthesia,to give pins and needles it's posh name,
felt like someone had plugged me into the mains socket.
Has any one else had any similar experiences?, and have the sensations
passed in time?.

g'day g
when i was on topamax i found that i had a very strong tingling sensation in
my tongue. apparently topomax can inflame the facial nerve. pharmacist
advised me to take vitamin b6 which did alleviate the problem somewhat.

Hello everyone. My name is Mike Hagan. I used to post to this group on a
regular basis. I have had epilepsy for almost 19 years. I am 50 and have
tried almost every kind of med you can name. My problem is me and meds
don't get along to well in the 19 years I have tried justed about every
med on the list. I have right temporal lobe seizures. Two years ago I
had brain surgery and that didn't work. I had the vns implant about 5
years ago and it worked for about 6 months. So 2 months ago My neuro and
my wife and I decided to have a new one put in. It is on as low of a
setting as it can be and will be worked up slowly. my seizures are now
back to where they started. I am only having them at night and I take
Carbotrol and it has stopped my grand-mal seizures altogether. Mike H
