Has anyone here tried the Atkins Diet for Seizure control? I am looking
at a clinical trial at Johns Hopkins. Please let me know of it helped
you. It would be costly for me due to flights and hotels, etc. Medical
visits and labs are paid for.
Thanks,
VA

I don't know anything about it (others will reply later who do). If
it's something that would help with seizures, do you have a Local
chapter of an Epilepsy Association near you who might be able to help
with it?
If it's something that could be self administered, I don't see why
you'd need to travel to use it? (There was a Ketogenic Diet used on
children and some people since about 1930. It works for *some types of
szrs. but not all, and is very high in Fats, so brings on Ketosis
(shock) that is supposed to occupy the brain and suppress some types of
szrs.
There might be information on that one via Google or at U.S. Ep.
Foundation site http://efa.org .
(Depending on the date of the Clinical trial you mentioned, if it
was recent, they might not have assembled enough information yet to see
whether it works for some szr. types and which ones. And free is
cheaper than whatever their cost if your Local Ep. Association or
Doctor knew about something that might work. ) G./
