I haven't driven in 2 months, as the doctor reported me to the DMV.
Does the DMV tell your insurance company?
If they do, what happens to our rates?
That might vary by country or area, but others might know. I just
remember (when I owned a car), that the annual or bi-annual renewal had
a paragraph near the end that lists somethng like "Have you been
diagnosed since you last reported with xxx, yyy, zzz, epilepsy, aaa,
bbb, ccc, ddd or been told to see a Dr. about any of those conditions?"
and a release part in some juridictions to allow them to contact the
Dr. for further information. I found when I wasn't controlled, I had
to get the Dr. to update new forms each ~3months until I had been
'clean' for 1-2 years.
I *think while you are not controlled, that if you had an accident
and they found out you hadn't reported, that the insurance could be
void ? (Potentially costly if a major accident involving others
occured.) That could vary according to Government laws too. (I never
trust insurers as a matter of course-- the no. I found who were worthy
of trust I can count on one hand, not even related to living with Ep.)
