Lamictal and dry mouth?

I've been having a lot of problems with a severely dry mouth
which is irritating my tongue and the tissues in my mouth,
cheeks etc.  At the same time that these problems were
getting worse, I developed a fibroma (benign) on the tip of
my tongue and had to have it surgically removed.

I take 100mg of Lamictal for depression because I don't
respond to SSRIs.

The dental people attribute my dry mouth and tongue problems
to Lamictal whereas the psychopharmacologist says the
lamictal is not the cause.

Does lamictal cause serious dry mouth symptoms in some
people?  I know it's listed as one of the side effects in
the PDR - but I'm wondering how common this is in the "real"
world.

TIA

Your medication has increased since your post in the
alt.support.depression.medication ng. If you're having problems while your
medication is being increased you should be discussing it with your doctor,
NOW.

Lots of people come here if they have symptoms that might appear to
be minor, as some might be result of slowly increasing szr. meds. over
time, but (they think) might not be serious, and appear to be just a
side effect.
They've already checked the Physician's Directory and saw that it
*might be one of the side effects but they wanted input whether others
had *experienced this and if it was common or not.
Often the *Pharmacy has the most current information on a particular
medication. (Lamictal is old enough that a large percent of possible
side effects would be documented there too.)  And some times the method
of using a Med. can be altered to fix the problem (e.g. taking it with
juice or food).
So long as they aren't having what they consider serious side
effects they look here too for others who might have **experience with
a medication.         G./
