Hi there,

Just a question:

Does anyone of you ever took (like me) Frisium and Trileptal and what are
your experiances.

Thanks and Greez,

Pieter

I use Frisium but with Tegretol CR.  It was added about 1995, and
Tegretol dose reduced. Each new szr. we added half a tablet, to now 1
Morning, 1 at night (10mg each).
Tegretol CR, I only use each Morning.
No noticable side effects, or problems, except my seizures stopped in
1998. (It worked for my Complex Partial type.)   G./

Yes, I was also prescribed Frisium (Clobazam) for my partials & complex
partials, and Tegretol (Carbamazepine) for my tonic-clonic's about 10-15
years ago.

It didn't do much for me though, so my neurologist took me off it, and put
me on another new drug at the time, Sabril (Vigabatrin) for my partials.
As we're all individuals though, it could still work on you, so please
don't despair.

Sorry I can't tell you much about Trileptal (Oxcarbazepine), as I've never
used it, but from it's name, it sounds very similar to the written name of
Tegretol (Carbamazepine), so it could be for your tonic-clonic's, and have
similar side effects.

Take Care

Hi Piper,

I took Trileptal for a few years, (I've tried almost every drug for
epilepsie that exist) but it did not work (like all the other drugs). My
'neurodoc' advised to use Frisium as a second medication. It worked, did
it's job. (10 mg a day) Frisium is a family of valium and (I'm thinking of
the word in english) addictive. Although it worked, now I'm in a depression.

Could there be a relationship?

So, what are peoples experiances using Trileptal or/and frisium?

Thanks,

Pieter

Yes, very possibly. As you say, it's a benzo and although such meds were
liberally prescribed in the past, their addictive effects caused lots of
problems. I got put on lots of various anti-depressants in order to
avoid upping my Frisium dose any higher.

But if you want to give it up, it's not easy and it takes a long time.
My dose was 40 mg per day, and I was told to take 9 months over removing
it completely. I'm now down to 25 mg, and recently can just feel the
epilepsy tugging at the strings again, although I have yet to have
another seizure.

'But if you want to give it up, it's not easy and it takes a long time.'

I know,

My 'NeuroDoc' (sorry for my scepticism, but after using years and years of
drug sh.t I'm a little critical) told me: aaah no, there is no problem, just
use it from monday to friday and not in the weekend. I've tried. But... by
stopping of using it in the weekend I became somebody 'different', feeling
'f.cked up', nervous. And that¹s how I felt by using 10 mg. Now, in a
depression I had to take 20 mg to 'cool down', my doc advised me. As soon I
felt a little better I stopped and went to 10 mg a day again. 'Trying to
avoid an addiction'. Although, I know I'm already addicted. How sad life
is...

Greez and thanks,

Pieter

Ps. Sorry for my bad English.

Hello,
My experiences of Frisium were not as involved, I dont think as many
others... my Specialist wouldnt put me on it full time (as it were) only
when I had seizures and the two days following. She was honest enough to
tell me of the addictive nature of the beast and whether it was the fact I
was only on 10g or because It was taken on an irregular basis that it didnt
have any effect on me I cant say.
Best wishes in the future
Janice
