Has anyone noticed an increase in their measured cholesterol levels
after being on Dilantin for years?  I was around 200 before starting
Dilantin in 7/03, at 225 in 04/04, and as last week 284!  My diet has
been relatively consistent throughout and none of my direct relatives
have total levels over 200 including my parents that are in their late
70's.  The liver is responsible for at least 75% of the cholesterol in
the blood so wondering if the Dilantin could be affecting my liver
function.  Since I've been on Dilantin my ALT levels have fluxtuated
from as high as 210 three months ago to as low as 55 a month ago.
Before I started my ALT was 29.

Howdy!

It may just be coincidence rather than cause and effect!
