One man's effort to make a difference;
http://www.epilepsy-ohio.org/EARTH_Ride/earth_ride.htm
I've been a lurker here for years. My 35 year old brother, Todd, has
both simple and complex partials. His doctors' finally put him on
disability because of failure to control to a point where he was safe to
work and he moved in with my family in January of this year. Our local
epilepsy foundation (http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/westernohio/) has
support meetings once a month and he began attending (since he was
living with people who could get him there). At these meetings we met
John O'Grady. Read his story - it is inspiring.
With John as a mentor, my brother is now volunteering hours and energy
to seizure awareness with our local chapter and with the state epilepsy
organization (the one he enjoyed most was being a counselor for a camp
this summer for children with epilepsy). If we can get him a tri-bike,
Todd plans on riding with John on a future awareness campaign.
