Yesterday arms and legs started trembling out of control, my jaw would not stop shaking, I couldn't speak. and my chest/lungs locked up, I stopped breathing went into some sort of seizure and woke up with a black eye and a scrape on my head. Is there any way to test of epilepsy? or seizures? Or is this a panic attack? I don't know the difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack. I am diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, and anxiety disorder.
These "seizures" or what ever really scare me.. especially when I lose control and pass out.
Any insight to this matter would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
John

John,
Sorry to hear about your difficulties. Standard tests include CAT, MRI and
EEG. Of the three the EEG is probably more telling but is, by no means,
foolproof. With the Paranoid Schizophrenia and Anxiety Disorder...I would
probably put my money on a panic attack. You should, however, be working
with specialists to help sort though this.
Best Wishes

Hi Jedi and son, good to see you are still here.
Some seizures can start like a panic attack. The fact that John passes out
seems like a definite sign he needs to see a specialist. John, it could even be
that your panic attacks are misdiagnosed. I was having what appeared to be
panic attacks and my neurologist told me that for me, they were a type of
seizure. But, then they already knew I had epilepsy. In some cases they would
go away, and other times it would move on to another type of seizure.
Take care,
Julie
