I'm 25, just recently had my first seizure. I was wondering if anyone
else has had a similar experience...
Prior to this, I hadn't been able to focus long enough to read a book
for years. I felt very ADD (or perhaps just intellectually lazy) and in
the week before my seizure couldn't focus long enough to even sit down
to watch a 30-minute TV show. I was constantly restless and felt like
I was going to have a heart attack.
Since then, I've been reading books nonstop and find that I'm far more
attentive and focused than I've been in years. I'm much less anxious
and feel far more "together" than usual. Some of the articles I've
read seem to imply that this is a possible result from the seizure and
compare it to your brain rebooting, much like a computer.
What I'd like to know is:
1.) Has anyone else out there had a similar experience? Has a first
seizure or seizures in general brought about anything positive?
2.) Does this sense of focus and feeling more together have more to do
with the seizure, or stopping my life long enough to rest and focus on
myself? Are feelings of anxiety and lack of focus common symptoms
leading up to a seizure?
Thank you in advance for any feedback on this.

Welcome to our group. I assume that you have seen a doctor and are being
treated, so I will not go into the importance of that issue.
What kind of seizure did you have? There are many kinds of seizures, was
this a tonic clonic seizure where you convulsed and went unconscious?

I am thinking that you may have been having absence and/or simple partial
seizures before this attack. Others on the group may have other questions
or comments.
