Some of the seizure types, depending on the patient, *might progress to
other types during a seizure, depending on conditions during a particular
seizure or the particular patient's profile.
Mine are called Complex Partial, Secondarily Generalized (older name was
Temporal Lobe seizures), but only before I was controlled, several times my
CP seizures if they didn't pass or clear quickly, *might spread (2nd
generalize) to other parts of my brain and lead to loss of consciousness for
*my type.
I suspect that your's means, if the Simple Partial didn't clear on its
own, or with use of medications, then in *some people it *can progress to
the other seizure type. It's not (as you might fear) a case of your
seizures becoming Worse than they are, but more likely if you were prone to
the stronger type, or your seizure threshold being weakened, e.g. by being
over-tired if that affects you, or alcohol will conflict with some Anti Ep
Drugs (AEDs) to decrease their effectiveness, therefore their control of a
seizure tendency might be compromised.
I would suggest it's one less thing to worry about, unless there were
other indications of there being a risk of stronger ones. If the Dr. hasn't
suggested that as a possibility by now, it's unlikely. G./.

partial (aura) seizures in succession.

Yes, this is how I started at 9 years of age, simply dropping my
possessions at the other end of the street, or bumping into lamp
posts unexpectedly. It wasn't till I was 11 though, when this had
developed into having my first tonic-clonic seizure in the school
playground, when I was taken to the hospital and first diagnosed as having
having epilepsy.
It since has developed into many different types of epileptic
seizures, from simple absences, complex partials, tonic-clonics,
and multiple seizures, but hey, as I'll be 40 in January, it seems
to have become part of life for me, I can hardly remember living
without it.
As we are all individuals though, and our experiences are all
different too, yours may never develop into anything more than a
simple partial, and therefore, unlike myself, you may even be given
the go-ahead to drive like many others on the newsgroup. I suppose
all I can give you as an answer is "only time will tell".
All the best
