Hi..
I have been having what i can only describe as a generalized seizures, but,
i am completly aware. I understand that this is probably not a generalized
seizure but in action is what it seems. so to speak. I saw my specialist a
while ago as i was having these experiences often. and he sugested it might
be due to stress from wedding plans. Yet since passing of my wedding almost
2 months ago. They have not gone and/or have gotten worse. He suggested that
next time we meet that if they were still happening he would refer me to a
nureopsycologist (sp?) . I don't know what this means really. but he said it
didn't sound like part of my epilepsy. I have Complex partials. and since
the past month or 2 have seemed to have developed simple partial symptoms
that i'll inform him about. Inwhich i experience no taste or smell for a few
minutes at a time. Not knowing where i am.. once i was on a bus and nearly
got off in the middle of my journey cause i didn't know where i was. which
was pretty scarey. I also don't recognise things such as money at one point.
i just thought .. huh.. whats that?.. a paper.. with something on it saw
numbers but didn't know what it meant. just colours and stuff. Good job i
didn't throw it away. heh.

Does anyone know what this could be.. sorry i rambled on a little there.
Wasn't sure if anything was relevant.

Thanks
Melx

** Usually a Complex Partial, if not controlled by Meds or ?? might
generalize then lead to loss of consciousness. What you described above
might find information more under 'general seizures', as the generalized
part is a specific med. term meaning a seizure has spread to other parts of
the brain.
The Simple Partial types can include an Aura or an *Absence sensation.  I
posted a group of sites I've used about a day or 2 ago?  If you still have
that message up you could have a look at Absences or Absence seizures. under
the efa site to see if any descriptions match what you feel.
Are you currently taking any Medication?  If you post what they are
that might help others to respond if it's something they're also using.
Newer pills are often developed to treat specific seizure types, so a
particular pill might help us tell what they're trying to control.
There might be something of interest to you also under the title Simple
Partial Seizures. /

*** Above was what I've done some years ago, and was what prompted me to
suggest checking Absences (I think they're a part of Simple Partial Seizures
on some sites).
I got those a few times when the particular *doses I was using had
started to wear off. With a small adjustment those stopped and haven't
needed Med. changes  now for more than 8 years. /

which  was pretty scarey. I also don't recognise things such as money at
one point.

Hi, thx for the reply. I am taking 200mg of lamotrogine and 500mg of keppra
morning and repeated at night. They tried a higher dosage of lamotrogine at
first but it made my skin itch badly.

thx
