are you allowed to drive with simple partial seizures, since you remain
conscious?

Check the law in your state.

Perhaps if  you noted what you were looking for, someone in the U.S. might
have other links?  I was able to click on the site listed below and it gave
a long scroll, Alphabetic by State, with lengths of time before driving
after a seizure,  Dr. requirements for reporting and ?? (something else).
And there's a bunch of other subjects on that link, with more information
wrt. seizures. (I thought at first, from post below, that you'd had trouble
getting the link to open?  But it did for me.)     G./

It doesn't matter that you're conscious. What if you have a small seizure
when the light turns from green to red and you don't stop? My doctor said I
could drive if....

1) I had nod small seizures during the EEG

2) Strobe lights didn't provoke seizures during the EEG

3) I didn't have any big seizures for 1 year

When I was in college, my EEG changed, and I didn't have small seizures any
more, and the strobe lights didn't cause seizures . Actually, I still can't
stand strobe lights, but the EEG says they don't provoke seizures anymore.

Unfortunately, I have a big seizure every year or two, so I don't drive that
much. My state has a 1 year time limit, yours might be different.

well, i just got back from neuro, and had no small seizures under EEG, but
had one in MRI, oddly enough.  we'll see what the doc says next week.

I never had an MRI for my epilepsy. I was born with it, was yours caused by
an injury?

The only time I had an MRI was when I  became dizzy. The MRI was totally
normal, I had an inner ear problem, but it got better.

How do you see a seizure on an MRI?

we're not sure if it's epilepsy or seizures caused by something else.
possibly brain injury or something else.  the other thing is that my mother
experienced trauma while i was in the womb which may have caused some
damage.   MRI can see the damage or differences in brain structures that may
lead to seizures or other disorders.
