I have just started taking lamotrigine and have also noticed that I have
a sore throat. It may be a coincidince but I just put the two together
and thought it might be a reaction to the drug.
Has anyone else gotten a sore throat when starting the drug lamotrigine?
It feels like a scratching in the back of my throat about where my vocal
chords are...
TIA

I found that if I dissolved it and drank it I got a "scratchy" throat. I
just chew it and swallow and no "scratchy" throat!

I haven't used that.  Did you get anything from the pharmacy about
whether to swallow it whole and use e.g. food, milk or juice with it?
(That's what comes with the Tegretol.   Crushing the Tegretol for some
people can produce stomach or throat irritation, although some had done that
(to Tegretol)  with children.)
Ep. Foundation of America has a Glossary for pills, or you could call
the druggist.   (I found e.g. negative reaction between Tegretol and
Grapefruit on the EFA site, before my Druggist told me about it.)
http://efa.org   then to Medications, and key in pill name, and 'search' ?
Once you get to the correct site,  it also lists 'things to watch for'
and if rash, upset stomach or other conditions should be reported to Doctor.
With the pills I've used (4 total), I found it quite accurate over last 7
years.    G./
