their sleep....

But all those things can happen without a seizure ...
A witness is the only sure way, I reckon.

I suppose I should call myself the luckiest one out of all of you then, as
I have a husband who keeps a diary of all my seizures to bring to my
neurologist on each visit.
I've had nocturnal seizures, together with other different types, since I
was a child though, but even then, it used to be my younger sister, who
shared a room with me, that used to keep a diary of each of my seizures if
ever I should have any.
Maybe you could try getting yourself a flat-mate or something perhaps if
you haven't got any other way of knowing.

With my simple partial and complex partial seizures, often times they
would wake me up at the very beginning of the seizure, and then I would
feel all the sensations, but I was also having a bunch more that never
roused me from sleep; just slept right through them.
The only other hint for me was waking up more tired than when I went to
bed, but that can be misleading and it's not a good clue for most
people. Unless someone sees it, videotapes it, or has you wired up to an
EEG, or maybe you've injured yourself during the night (but I've done
that without seizures too), aren't sore or anything, you might not know
you are seizing during sleep.

Not to be flip about it, but - it wakes you up.

Neither do mine. Quite the opposite. They make me sleep for 12+ hours
(if I haven't got the alarm clock set).

I don't wake up at the time of my seizures either, but when I finally do,
it feels exacly like I've just had a tonic-clonic - I have an awful
headache, and a funny taste in my mouth.

Well, I was on the floor when my fiancée found me that's a good indication.

I can only speak from my own experience. If you have a doubt, it probably
wasn't a seizure.
Sometimes when I stay up too late, I feel dizzy and nauseous, but I wouldn't
call that a seizure. A seizure is when I bite my tongue and have very stiff
legs from muscle spasms.

Indeed, it can be hard to recognize a nocturnal seizure.
Byting your tongue, having stiff limbs, urinating in the bed are usually
signs.
I also feel dizzy and a little nauseous after staying up late, but... also
after a small seizure without byting my tongue, stiff limbs and urinating in
bed.
In my case memoryloss is the strongest sign I had a smaller seizure and
often it takes me 4-5 days
to notice I did forget more as usual.
I also was very happy such a small seizure was caught on (EEG-)tape. After
that I started recognizing 'm much faster by myself.
Maybe you could borrow a small EEG-measuring device from your neurologist
for 1-2 months Owlvee ?
